Connect the PC to the wifi without a password
You can connect a Windows PC to wifi (and to the internet) without having to enter the password, just by pressing a button
To connect a PC to the internet, you activate the wifi, select the network and then enter the password.
If you use a complex password or otherwise you do not remember, you can also choose to connect the PC to the wifi network with internet using WPS mode , which stands for Wi-Fi Protected Setup, which does not require the inclusion of passwords .
Most modern wifi modem routers support the WPS function, which allows you to connect a device to a supported modem or router without entering the password, except that almost no one uses it.
The WPS function is a nice convenience, also because it works not only with PCs, but also with smartphones and tablets (Android only), with printers and other network devices, so you only have to activate it once to allow connection to internet quickly.
NOTE: In this guide we find out how to connect to a wifi network using WPS from Windows 10 PC and Android, assuming however that the WPS is active on the router, which should be by default.
To make sure that WPS is active, it is convenient to access the router configuration panel , look for WPS in the settings of the wifi network and activate it.
With a PC Windows 10 (and also on Windows 7) you can connect to the internet without entering the password of the wifi by going first to click on the network connection icon on the taskbar, near the desktop clock.
If you can not see the networks icon, press the arrow up or go to Settings> Network and Internet> Wifi .
Once you have expanded the list of available wifi networks, find the name of the network you want to connect to, click on it and then press the button to connect.
Uncheck the Automatically connect if you do not want to connect to this network each time you turn on the PC.
When the password request is displayed, it will be found underneath an inscription that reads: " You can also connect by pressing the button on the router ".
At this point, just press the WPS button on the router to connect the computer to the internet and transfer all security information, including the login password.
The button press procedure is done only once, it will not need to be repeated and you will not be prompted to press the WPS button again.
In the same way you can connect an Android smartphone , even if the option is less visible.
In Android you can activate the connection via WPS by going to Settings> Wifi , then pressing the button with three dots in the screen where the wifi networks are listed and going to Advanced .
In the Advanced Wifi options you can press on WPS command buttonand then press the WPS button on the router.
On the iPhone and iPad, the connection via WPS can not be used, so you must always enter the password to connect to a wifi network.
The WPS button on the router, which has the symbol of a double arrow, should be located at the front, but can be on either side,
Also, some routers / modems are required to hold down the key for a few seconds to establish the connection required.
Finally, note that the WPS can be a vulnerability for the network, so if you are in a busy environment, with more possibilities that some expert hacker can access our network, it may be better to disable it altogether.
